History

The Pine Hill Community Center opened on December 2, 2000 after a youth tragically took his own life. The Center was created as a gathering space. We want people to make it what they want it to be. This founding principle continues to this day.

The Center began offering workshops for everyone from toddlers to seniors. Open Mic nights, concerts, seasonal parties, movies and nature walks proved popular. Music, Dancing, potluck dinners, wellness and arts classes of all kinds, continue to this day.

The Center hosts a number of successful children's workshops with over 30 local artists, musicians, and naturalists.

The Center's Arts and Crafts room and Thrift Shop, are eagerly sought after. Both have benefited from generous donations, and the continued hard work of dedicated volunteers.

During the pandemic, PHCC took over a dozen of our wellness classes online, providing hundreds of participants with weekly yoga, Pilates, meditation, cardio, art, music, and language classes online. PHCC looks forward to bringing continued growth and opportunities to both the Center and the surrounding Catskill community.
